"What is man in nature?" asked Pascal. "A nothing in comparison with the infinite, an all in comparison with the nothing, a mean between nothing and everything." These compositions achieve this harmonious mean by unifying spatial and philosophical contradictions i.e. chaos vs order, micro vs macro, explosion vs implosion, spontaneous gesture vs graphic clarity. It is holding two opposing concepts that a hypnotic unity is realized.
A line trips through time. Numerous lines explore the optical and luminous pheomena of movement created by color and light. Together they create mystery, swelling, dimension, flashing and warping. The only concern is with the interaction between movement, understanding and being. The line multiplied in various explorations create our visual sense of the world.
